1) Your 5th gen Viper bump-steer kit should have come pre-assembled for easy installation. If for some reason your kit came disassembled or it was disassembled follow these instructions and pictures in this document for correct assembly and installation.
2) For easiest installation it is recommended that you block or hold the wheels in place prior to disconnecting any part of the steering rack or factory tie rod end. Blocking or holding wheels in place will greatly reduce the time needed for realignment of front wheels after installation of TKOSROD1294K.
3) Correct torque specifications for all fasteners must be followed. Incorrect torque may result in premature failure and damage to vehicle. Please consult SAE published torque specifications and factory shop manual prior to any installation of parts.
4) Install pic #1 show the TKOSROD1294K bump-steer kit correctly installed on the car.
5) Install pic #2 shows the correct installation of the bump-steer spacers. Small thin spacer on the bottom against the spindle steer arm, larger spacer on top in contact with spherical bearing of the tie rod end.
6) Install pic #3 shows the red anodized steer rack spacer installed. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE STEERING RACK FROM VIPER FOR INSTALLATION. Loosen the two steer rack bolts until you are able to slip the spacer into place. Once the red anodized steer rack spacer is in place, tighten both steer rack mounting fasteners (correct SAE torque specification). The red anodized spacer simply spaces the steering rack up.
7) After installation of TKOSROD1294K front wheel realignment of vehicle is recommended. ALWAYS CHECK ALL FASTENERS INSTALLED AT LEAST TWICE FOR CORRECT TORQUE. Spending a little extra time during installation will save a lot of time in the end.
