The team at TKO Motorsports travelled to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 2021 GT America Season Finale.
Practice went well for Driver Memo Gidley and the 101 TKO Motorsports Continental GT3, with a few adjustments we brought our lap times down to 1:37.1 for the fastest lap time of the session. Weather moved into town for qualifying. TKO Motorsports qualified P3 on a wet track with rain tires.
Race 1: The 101 TKO Motorsports Bentley finished 8th in Race 1. Technical issues had us starting the race at the back of the grid down the front straight. Driver Memo Gidley fought hard to get us back into 3rd place. Without 20 minutes left in the race, the 101 Bentley was forced to pit for a broken hood latch, leaving us fighting for a good position for the remainder of the race. Driver Memo Gidley drove hard bringing us back into 8th place for the day. Our lowest placing of the season.
Race 2: With a difficult race 1 for the team, we were determined to have a strong finish at the 2021 GT America season finale race 2. We qualified P2 for this race, and with a good drive from Memo Gidley, we are able to finish the race in second. TKO Motorsports finishes the season on the podium at Indianapolis Motor Speedway! and a first podium at IMS for Memo Gidley.
