The team at TKO Motorsports took TWO 1st Place finishes at GT America in Sebring, Florida. TKO Driver Memo Gidley called the track a Sebring “a bumpy beast” but handled it well in the 101 TKO Motorsports Bentley Continental GT3.
Getting in the car for the first time since our spin-off at Road America a few weeks prior, Memo took the track in the Bentley on Wednesday and Thursday for 2 great practice sessions. The Bentley was running with a freshly rebuilt gear box after we hit oil on the track in Road America, causing internal damage
Qualifying: The 101 TKO Motorsports Bentley Continental GT3 flew through qualifying bringing in a P1 start for Race 1 with a Lap Time of 2:02.9.
Race 1: The Bentley and Driver Memo Gidley start the race fast, giving us a few second gap from the rest of the field. Driver Memo Gidley brings it home for his first 1st place finish in GT America! Crowdstrike Fastest Lap puts us in position to repeat as we’re set to start Race 2 in P1.
Race 2: The 101 TKO Motorsports Bentley was under pressure the entire race from the No.88 Lamborghini. As tires started to wear, the gap between 1st and 2nd really started to close. FCY restarted the race with 12 minutes left, further closing the gap with the Lamborghini. The 101 TKO Motorsports Bentley was able to fend off the challengers and cross the finish line first overall and first in class.
